Overview

This guide shows you how to connect Google Business Profile (GBP) to Chatavise Reviews, map each Google location to a Chatavise location, and start syncing reviews so you can view and reply to them directly in Chatavise.



What you’ll need

  • A verified Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business)

  • The Google account that manages your GBP locations

  • A Chatavise account with access to Reviews (Team Suite is optional but enables advanced attribution)


Step 1 — Start the Google connection

  1. In Chatavise, go to ReviewsConnect Google.

  2. When prompted, select the Google account that manages your GBP.

  3. Allow the requested permissions.
    Why? Chatavise needs read access to pull in reviews and write access to post replies on your behalf.

After you allow access, you’ll see a new Profiles tab indicating the connection succeeded.


Step 2 — Map Google locations to Chatavise locations

  1. Open ReviewsProfiles.

  2. For each Google listing shown, choose the matching Chatavise Location from the dropdown.

  3. Click Connect.

That’s it—Chatavise begins syncing reviews for each mapped location (initial sync may take a couple of hours).


Step 3 — View and reply to Google reviews in Chatavise

  1. Go to ReviewsInbox/Dashboard.

  2. Click any review to open the detail view.

  3. Click Post Reply to publish a response back to Google without leaving Chatavise.

Tip: Create reply templates and enable Auto-Reply rules (positive-only or custom conditions) under Reviews → Automation to handle routine responses at scale.


Optional — Attribute reviews to team members (Team Suite)

If you use Chatavise Team features and/or supported integrations (e.g., your CRM, scheduling, or field service apps), Chatavise can:

  • Auto-attribute reviews to the users who serviced that customer/job

  • Update leaderboards and performance views automatically

You can also manually attribute a review to a team member from the review detail pane.


Managing the connection

Disconnect a mapped location

  1. Reviews → Profiles

  2. Click Remove beside the mapped listing.

  3. Choose:

    • Disconnect only (keep previously synced reviews in Chatavise), or

    • Disconnect and delete reviews (remove all synced reviews for that listing from Chatavise)

Disconnect the Google account completely

From Reviews → Profiles, use Disconnect Account to remove all GBP mappings and stop sync for every location.


FAQs & Troubleshooting

Why don’t I see my locations?
Confirm you signed into the correct Google account and that your GBP is verified. Unverified listings won’t sync.

How often are reviews synced?
Reviews are refreshed every few hours after the initial import.

I can’t reply to a review.
Make sure you granted reply permissions during Google authorization. If needed, disconnect and reconnect, then re-allow permissions.

Can I auto-reply to all reviews?
Yes. Configure Auto-Reply templates and rules under Reviews → Automation. Many teams auto-reply to positive reviews and handle negative ones manually.

Will removal disconnect delete my Google reviews?
No. Disconnecting never deletes reviews from Google—only from the Chatavise view if you choose that option.


Best practices

  • Map one-to-one: Ensure each GBP location maps to the correct Chatavise location for accurate reporting and team attribution.

  • Use templates: Create a library of reply templates (positive, neutral, issue-escalation) to keep responses fast and on-brand.

  • Escalate negatives: Route negative reviews to a queue or owner for thoughtful, timely follow-up.

  • Leverage automation: Combine Auto-Reply with Workflows (e.g., notify a manager when a low-star review arrives).
